Advanced Electrophysiology Services
Heart rhythm problems can be scary and may have serious consequences. At Midwest Cardiology, our electrophysiology services provide the latest in arrhythmia diagnosis and treatment. Our team, led by Peter Park, MD, has the fulfillment of your needs as its number one priority.
Electrophysiology (EP) is the study of the heart's electrical system and allows us to assess and treat any abnormalities in heart rhythm that are detected. Our Electrophysiology Lab at Menorah Medical Center was started in 1977 and was one of the first of its kind in our region. It has grown into a leading electrophysiology center, and we take great pride in its quality and our focus on patient care.
In our EP lab, we have 3-dimensional mapping capabilities as well as full-service device implantation capabilities. We perform all types of EP diagnostic studies and provide therapeutic options that can treat and in many cases cure troublesome rhythm disturbances.
The services we offer in our EP lab include:
- Electrophysiologic testing and ablation therapy for atrial and ventricular arrhythmias;
- Permanent pacemaker implantation;
- Defibrillator placement (AICD) and follow-up to prevent Sudden Cardiac Death;
- Biventricular pacing and ICD resynchronization therapy to help treat congestive heart failure;
- 24-hour Holter monitoring;
- 2-4 week cardiac event monitoring;
- Tilt-table testing to assess dizziness and loss of consciousness; and
- Implantation of cardiac rhythm monitors, known as loop recorders.
