Professional

Dr. Pfuetze bachelor's degree is from the Kansas University and his medical degree from the University of Kansas Medical Center. He completed his Internship at the Sacramento County Hospital in California and a one-year Residency in Family Practice. After a tour of duty in Vietnam, he completed an Internal Medicine Residency and a Cardiology Fellowship at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC where he was Chief Medical Resident. He was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army serving from 1968-1976 and was awarded three bronze stars in Vietnam. He is a long-time resident of the Kansas City area. For 24 years he practiced with Physicians Associated and the Kenyon Clinic in Overland Park, KS. In 2000, he merged his practice with Midwest Cardiology Associates.

He was the Chief of Cardiology at Humana Hospital, Overland Park, KS from 1978-1990. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease, and Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Pfuetze is a General Invasive Cardiologist with special interests in lipidology, atherosclerosis, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology.
