Professional
Dr. Scharf is the Director of Cardiovascular Services at Menorah Medical Center. He has been in practice in Kansas City since 1977. He is a past president of the Medical Staff at Menorah Medical Center. Dr. Scharf is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Albany Medical College.
He completed his cardiology fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and has published and presented a number of academic research papers on cardiac diseases and treatment methods. He is Board-Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. He served as Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy, 1975-1977. In addition to general cardiology, he has particular expertise in interventional cardiology, and peripheral vascular treatment techniques such as balloon angioplasty and stenting.
